Every MicroLife product is organic, 100% slow-release, won’t burn your lawn even if you overapply a little, and is safe for kids and pets almost immediately after it’s down. That’s why we carry the line — but “organic and safe” doesn’t tell you which one to buy. The formula numbers (like 6-2-4) do that.

MicroLife Multi-Purpose 6-2-4 — The One Everyone Should Own
This is our best seller for a reason: it works on every grass type we sell (St. Augustine, Bermuda, Zoysia) plus ornamentals, trees, flowers, and vegetables. It contains over 100 minerals, vitamins, natural plant hormones, amino acids, and billions of beneficial microorganisms, plus 2% iron. It builds root systems and improves soil health over time rather than just forcing top growth.
Buy this if: you want one all-purpose bag that’s hard to get wrong, you just installed new sod (apply at half rate 30 days after install), or you’re not sure which formula fits your situation. Apply 15–20 lbs per 1,000 sq ft, and repeat every 3–4 months during the growing season.
MicroLife Hybrid 20-0-5 — For Fast Green-Up (Especially Bermuda)
Hybrid is the high-nitrogen crossover formula. The 20-0-5 ratio delivers noticeably faster green-up and more vigorous growth than Multi-Purpose, which makes it the go-to for Bermuda lawns — Bermuda is an aggressive grower that can put that extra nitrogen to use. It still includes Humates, minerals, and the full MicroGro Supreme Bio-Inoculant package, so you’re not sacrificing soil health for speed.
Buy this if: your Bermuda lawn is slow to green up in spring or looks thin compared to a neighbor’s, or you want faster visible results than Multi-Purpose delivers. Apply 5–7 lbs per 1,000 sq ft (less than Multi-Purpose — it’s a stronger formula) every 3–4 months, May through August.
MicroLife Humates Plus 0-0-4 — Fixes Houston’s Clay Problem
This one isn’t really a “fertilizer” in the traditional sense — it’s concentrated compost in a bag, and it’s a soil conditioner first. If you’ve ever dug into your yard and hit dense, sticky gumbo clay that turns into a brick when it dries out, this is the product built for that exact problem. It loosens clay soil better than gypsum, builds bigger root systems, reduces how much water your lawn needs, and greens plants up quickly as a side effect of the soil actually working again.
Buy this if: your yard has heavy clay, water pools instead of soaking in, your grass roots seem shallow, or you’re on a new-construction lot where the topsoil was stripped during building. It pairs well with Multi-Purpose or Hybrid rather than replacing them — think of it as fixing the soil while the other formula feeds the grass. Apply 10–20 lbs per 1,000 sq ft every 3–4 months.
MicroLife Brown Patch 5-1-3 — Prevents Houston’s #1 Fall Disease
Brown patch and large patch are fungal diseases that show up almost every fall in Houston as nights cool while soil is still warm and humid. This formula contains specific microbial disease-fighting bacteria and fungi that biologically attack the microbes causing the disease, and it also functions as a complete fertilizer, so it’s not a one-trick product.
Buy this if: you’ve had brown patch or large patch before (it tends to recur in the same spots year after year), or you want to get ahead of it. Apply preventively in September for St. Augustine and Zoysia lawns — that’s before symptoms appear, not after. If you’re already seeing circular brown patches, apply at first sign rather than waiting for the calendar. Rate is 15–20 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.
MicroLife Acidifier 6-2-4 — The Fix for Yellowing Grass
If your grass is yellowing even though you’re watering and fertilizing on schedule, the actual problem is usually iron chlorosis caused by Houston’s alkaline soil — the iron is there, but the pH is too high for the grass to absorb it. Acidifier contains 12% sulfur plus Humates specifically to lower soil pH and unlock that iron. It’s also the product to reach for if your irrigation water runs high pH, which fights against whatever else you’re applying.
