Castillo Grass — Tomball Location
Our Tomball yard on FM 2920 near Hwy 249 is right in the middle of one of the busiest landscaping markets in NW Houston. Tomball is split — the Rosehill side tends to be more wooded and shaded, while city Tomball and the areas along 249 are more open and sunny.
We deliver throughout all of it — Rosehill Reserve, Amira, Lakes at Creekside, Woodtrace, Northpointe, Villages of Northpointe, and everywhere in between.
What Grows Best in Tomball
For the shadier, wooded Rosehill side of Tomball, Palmetto St. Augustine and Zeon Zoysia are our top recommendations. For the sunnier city Tomball areas and newer developments along Hwy 249, Raleigh St. Augustine is our most popular seller. If you're in a new construction home — which is very common in Tomball right now — we almost always recommend starting with 2–4 inches of Enriched Topsoil before the sod goes down. Builder lots are often stripped down to clay and that extra step makes a big difference.
Creekside & Lakes at Creekside
The Creekside area — Lakes at Creekside and surrounding neighborhoods just south of The Woodlands on Grand Parkway — tends to have a mix of sun and shade. A lot of residents there consider themselves Woodlands adjacent, and the landscaping standards are high. We deliver out there regularly and can handle any size order.

About Tomball
Tomball is a city with a lot of personality — part small-town Texas charm, part booming NW Houston suburb. Sitting along Hwy 249, it's grown significantly over the past decade with new master-planned communities springing up throughout the area.
The Rosehill area on the western side of Tomball is noticeably more wooded than the rest of the city. Mature pines and hardwoods create shaded lots that need shade-tolerant grass — Palmetto St. Augustine or Zeon Zoysia are the right call here. Rosehill Reserve is one of the bigger communities in this pocket, and we deliver there regularly.
City Tomball itself and the areas along Hwy 249 corridor tend to be more open and sun-exposed. This is where Raleigh St. Augustine thrives, and where Bermuda varieties like TifTuf are popular for their water efficiency and clean look.
Lakes at Creekside and Amira sit at the northern edge of Tomball, right on the border with The Woodlands. These are newer, upscale communities where landscaping standards are high and homeowners invest in quality. We see a lot of demand for Zeon Zoysia, Palmetto, and decorative materials like chopped stone and decorative rock in these neighborhoods.
New construction is everywhere in Tomball right now — Rosehill Reserve, Woodtrace, and other developments are still actively building. New lots almost always need topsoil work before sod installation. We carry Enriched Topsoil and Garden Mix by the yard and can coordinate delivery alongside your sod order.
